Igualada is the capital of the Anoia comarca in the province of Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Located approximately 60 kilometers northwest of Barcelona at an elevation of around 315 meters in the Anoia river valley, it has a population of roughly 40,000 and is historically significant as a center of the Catalan leather-tanning industry. The city is served by FGC rail services and the A-2 motorway, placing it within easy reach of Barcelona and the broader central Catalan interior.
