West Madeira: Cabo Girão, Seixal, Fanal and More – Full Day Electric Tour
Discover the wild western coast of Madeira in silence, comfort, and style aboard an all-electric vehicle.
This West Madeira full day electric tour takes small groups of up to seven guests through some of the island's most dramatic and authentic landscapes, from soaring sea cliffs to volcanic black-sand beaches and ancient laurel forests.
The tour covers roughly six and a half to eight hours, departing from your accommodation in Funchal and returning you there at the end of the day. There is no rigid clock to watch — the pace is shaped by the group's curiosity and the conditions of the day.
Travelling in an all-electric vehicle means the journey itself is part of the experience. Windows down, you hear the Atlantic waves long before you see them, and the silence of the plateau lets birdsong carry clearly across the heather.
With only seven guests per departure, the guide can give genuine attention to each person, adapting stops and stories to match your interests. It is the difference between being in a tour group and actually being looked after.
Tour Highlights
Stand on the Cabo Girão Skywalk, 589 metres above the Atlantic, on one of Europe's highest sea cliffs.
Walk the black volcanic sand beach at Seixal, a rarely visited stretch of wild coastline.
Stop at a local poncha bar on the Paul da Serra plateau and try Madeira's traditional cane-spirit drink.

Have lunch beside the natural volcanic pools of Porto Moniz with the option to swim.
Travel in a quiet all-electric vehicle — better for the environment and better for your senses.
Photograph the colourful fishing boats of Câmara de Lobos, a scene painted by Winston Churchill.
Itinerary
Your guide collects you directly from your hotel or accommodation in Funchal. No need to find a meeting point or arrange transport.
The first stop is this working fishing town just west of Funchal. Colourful boats line the harbour and the narrow streets retain a deeply traditional character that contrasts sharply with the resort areas.
At 589 metres above the ocean, the glass-floored skywalk here is one of Madeira's most visited viewpoints. The cliff drops almost vertically to terraced farmland and the sea below.
The volcanic black-sand beach at Seixal is one of the few accessible beaches on this stretch of coast. It is a quiet spot suited to a short walk or simply taking in the view of the cliffs and sea.
The natural lava pools at Porto Moniz are filled by the Atlantic and are the traditional lunch stop on this route. Guests may swim or simply eat at a restaurant overlooking the pools.
The return route crosses Madeira's high-altitude plateau, where an optional stop at a local poncha bar offers a taste of the island's most traditional spirit alongside homemade cakes. Cash in euros is useful here. The guide then returns you to your hotel in Funchal.
