          Miletus lies on Turkey's Aegean coast in the Aydın region of western Anatolia. An ancient Greek city and one of the birthplaces of Western philosophy, Miletus is home to the Temple of Athena and the remnants of a Hellenistic theatre. Visitors explore the archaeological site to view marble columns, walk among ancient foundations, and study inscriptions that reveal the city's intellectual and commercial significance.
          Miletus is an ancient Greek and Roman city located near the modern village of Balat in Aydin Province, western Turkey, approximately 85 km south of Kusadasi. Once a major Ionian metropolis and intellectual center, the site is managed by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and has been excavated primarily by German archaeological teams since the late 19th century.
