Ephesus, Pamukkale, Priene, Miletus & Didyma from Kusadasi
Three days across ancient marble streets, cotton-white terraces, and forgotten Ionian cities of Anatolia.
This 3-day mini group tour from Kusadasi brings together the most significant archaeological and natural sites of western Turkey, from the monumental ruins of Ephesus to the surreal travertine pools of Pamukkale and the lesser-visited Ionian cities of Priene, Miletus, and Didyma. Travel by minibus with a small group for a more personal pace and guided depth at each site. A private tour option is also available for families or independent travelers seeking exclusive access.
Ephesus stands as one of the best-preserved ancient cities in the Mediterranean world. Walking its marble-paved streets past the Celsus Library, the Temple of Hadrian, and a theater once capable of seating 24,000 spectators gives a rare sense of the scale and sophistication of Roman urban life in Asia Minor.
Pamukkale, whose name means cotton castle in Turkish, presents an entirely different kind of wonder. Mineral-rich thermal waters have cascaded down a white travertine cliff for millennia, forming layered shell-shaped basins that shift color with the changing light. Above the terraces, the ancient spa city of Hierapolis adds a historical dimension to this natural landscape.
The final day explores three Ionian sites that receive far fewer visitors than Ephesus yet reward the curious traveler equally. Priene clings to a forested hillside above the Meander Valley, Miletus preserves an extraordinary Roman theater and the Faustina Baths, and Didyma holds the vast Temple of Apollo along with the cracked marble head of Medusa that once adorned its frieze.

Itinerary
Your guide meets you at your Kusadasi hotel and drives you to the Ephesus region. The first stop is the House of the Virgin Mary on the slopes of Bulbul Mountain, where tradition holds that Saint John brought Mary after the crucifixion and where she spent her final years.
You then enter ancient Ephesus and walk its main ceremonial and commercial arteries, passing the State Agora, the Odeon, the Monument of Memmius, the Temple of Domitian, the Pollio Fountain, Curetes Street, the Trajan Fountain, the Baths of Scholastica, the Temple of Hadrian, the Latrina, the Celsus Library, the Gate of Mazeus and Mithridates, the Commercial Agora, and the Grand Theater. The day concludes with a visit to the Temple of Artemis, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before returning to your hotel in Kusadasi.
After breakfast, your minibus departs Kusadasi for Pamukkale. On arrival you explore the cascading white travertine terraces formed by calcite-laden thermal springs flowing down a 200-meter cliffside, creating a series of terraced basins that hold warm mineral water. The water shifts color depending on the angle of light, creating an otherworldly visual effect.
Above the terraces, the ruins of Hierapolis offer additional exploration including its necropolis, ancient baths, and colonnaded street. You return to your hotel in Kusadasi by evening.
After breakfast, you depart for Priene, an ancient Greek city set on a forested hillside above the Meander Valley, known for its important Temple of Athena and well-preserved Hellenistic street grid. The site is quieter than Ephesus and offers an intimate view of ancient urban planning.
You continue to Miletus, a major Ionian commercial city active from around 700 BC to 700 AD, where the Roman Theater and Faustina Baths are the main draws. The final stop is Didyma, home to the immense Temple of Apollo and the famous cracked marble head of Medusa, once part of the temple's decorative frieze. You return to your hotel in Kusadasi to conclude the tour.
