          Antequera is a historic city in the province of Malaga, Andalusia, southern Spain, positioned at the geographic convergence of the region's main cities. It is recognised internationally for the Antequera Dolmens Site, a UNESCO World Heritage property since 2016, and for El Torcal Natural Park, a Site of Special Scientific Interest for its karst limestone formations. The city served as a key frontier settlement during the Nasrid period and was taken by Castilian forces in 1410, making it one of the earliest significant Reconquest victories in the region.
