          Estremoz is a historic town in the Évora district of central Portugal. Known for its white-washed buildings and traditional ceramic tiles, the town sits atop a hill crowned by the medieval castle and the Church of Santa Maria.           Estremoz is a municipality in the Evora District of the Alentejo region in central-eastern Portugal, situated at approximately 470 metres elevation on the Alentejo high plain. It lies within the Marble Triangle alongside Borba and Vila Vicosa, an area recognized internationally for its white and pink marble deposits. The town is approximately 190 kilometres east of Lisbon and 46 kilometres northeast of Evora, functioning as a market and administrative centre for the surrounding rural communes.
