          Saint-Etienne is a city in the Loire region of southeastern France, historically known for weapons manufacturing and ribbon production. The Design Museum and the neo-Gothic Basilica of Saint-Louis are notable landmarks. Visitors explore the compact city center, visit museums dedicated to design and industrial heritage, and use the extensive tram network to navigate the hillside terrain.
          Saint-Etienne is located in the Loire department of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region in south-central France, approximately 60 kilometres southwest of Lyon at an elevation of around 500 metres. Designated a UNESCO Creative City of Design, it is the cultural and administrative centre of the Loire department and serves as a gateway to the Pilat Regional Natural Park.
