This tour operates from the port of Trapani, located on the western tip of Sicily, Italy. Trapani serves as the primary gateway to the Egadi Archipelago, a group of small islands designated as a Marine Protected Area in the Strait of Sicily. The two islands visited — Favignana and Levanzo — lie within 15 to 20 kilometres of the Trapani coastline. Favignana is the largest island in the group and is known for its tuna-fishing heritage, turquoise coves such as Cala Azzurra and Cala Rossa, and easily accessible beaches. Levanzo is the smallest inhabited island of the Egadi group and contains the Grotta del Genovese, a cave of prehistoric significance, as well as dramatic coastal rock formations. The surrounding waters are part of a protected marine zone, supporting rich biodiversity and clear underwater visibility, making the area a recognised destination for snorkelling and sea tourism in southern Italy.
