15-tägige Selbstfahrer-Tour durch die Algarve & den Alentejo ab Faro

This tour operates entirely within southern Portugal, covering two of the country's most historically significant regions. The Algarve — Portugal's southernmost province — encompasses the coastal cities of Faro, Silves, Tavira, and Olhao, all of which are accessible from Faro International Airport (FAO). The route then moves north into Alentejo, one of Europe's largest wine and cork-producing plains, taking in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Evora, the Roman and Moorish town of Beja, and the Guadiana riverside villages of Serpa, Aljustrel, and Moura. The Algarve sits on the Atlantic coast at the south-western tip of the Iberian Peninsula, while Alentejo extends across a broad interior plateau characterised by cork oak forests, wheat fields, and whitewashed hilltop villages. Key geographic anchors include the Arade River (Silves), the Guadiana River (Serpa and Moura), and the Gilao River estuary (Tavira). The entire self-drive circuit begins and ends at Faro Airport, placing it within easy reach of travellers flying from major European hubs.
