The Pena Palace is one of the best examples of 19th century Romanticism in Europe. Being the second highest point in the Sintra Mountains (over 500m above sea level), it will surprise you with its unique architecture and spectacular views. King D. Fernando II - the artist king - fell in love with Sintra and, following the purchase of the property, decided to build a unique castle and park, with 500 species of plants from all corners of the world. The palace incorporates Manueline and Moorish architectural influences, which together give it an atmosphere of "one thousand and one nights". A unforgettable experience.
Appreciate the wonders of this beautiful medieval village by walking through the narrow streets, and feel the local atmosphere. Then relax, have a coffee and try the local pastry, the "Travesseiro".
The Sintra National Palace was one of the most important palaces of the Middle Ages. Several monarchs used it until the end of the Monarchy in 1910. Here you will "feel" the many generations that lived in this incredible monument, particularly during the discoveries, where important decisions were made to discover Africa, Brazil and the sea route to India.
The Regaleira is a 19th century Villa, known as the Regaleira Palace. Located in the center of Sintra, it was bought by a Portuguese businessman fascinated by secret orders like Freemasonry and the Templars. The Regaleira was transformed into a palace surrounded by gardens, lakes, grottoes and enigmatic buildings, symbolic places typical of secret societies and rituals. A unique monument influenced by Romantic, Neo-Gothic and Manueline architecture.
Breathtaking views at the westernmost point of continental Europe. After visiting Sintra, you will stop here to take pictures and relax.
Cascais will surprise you, with its mix of a small fishing village, with the sophistication of a place where kings and queens spent part of their summer. Time to relax, enjoy a good meal and, if you wish, do some shopping.
A quick view of Estoril, where kings lived and spies met during World War II. Are you a fan of James Bond? You will learn a little about his history, and also the connection to Estoril.
