This, undoubtedly one of the Poland’s prime tourist attractions, gives you a chance to admire some of the most amazing scenery in the Polish highlands. Usually referred to as “the raft trip down the Dunajec river”, this is in fact a rather leisurely drift in large wooden punts. Highly experienced guides make sure you have a smooth ride and keep you informed about the sights you see and the history of the trips, which goes back to 1840s.
The voyage down the winding Dunajec offers breathtaking views of mighty limestone cliffs plunging into the water as well as stunning native vegetation both protected by the second oldest international national park in the world. Also, while down the river you can spot some rare bird species including the Black Stork. Our raft trip begins at Sromowce Niżne and ends 15 kms later in Szczawnica.

Going rafting down the Dunajec river is one of the most beloved and classic tourist attractions in all of Poland. The tour begins from the center of Krakow, or from your place of accommodation in the city.
Upon arrival at your destination, you will join other participants of the River Rafting Experience.
One raft can accommodate a group of up to 11 people, lead by two raftsmen – a foreman at the front and an assistant at the back of the raft. The raft is propelled with long, wooden poles the raftsmen jam against the river bed. The expertise of the raftsmen is truly impressive, if only for the fact that the river may be up to 18 metres deep. During the 2 hours of the raft trip, you will have an opportunity to admire 14th-century Červený Kláštor on the Slovak side. Rafters are also impressed by rugged limestone rocks reaching even 500 m in height above the water surface. The highlight of the trip, however, is a view on the most famous summits of the Pieniny Mountains, namely Sokolica and Trzy Korony.
Your raft trip down the Dunajec river ends in the town of Szczawnica – one of the oldest Polish health resorts. You will have free time to have a lunch and then return to Krakow.
The return to the departure point in Krakow will take around 2 or slightly more hours depending on road conditions
