Sailing Course
Zero to Hero: 7-Day Sailing Course
From first steps on deck to genuine confidence at sea, one week at a time.
This zero to hero sailing course is a structured, seven-day program built for beginners and improvers who want real, practical skills rather than a surface-level introduction to the water.
Participants spend the majority of each day on board, working directly with experienced instructors in live sailing conditions. The focus is on building genuine competence: reading the wind, handling the boat, navigating safely, and understanding the rhythms of life at sea.
The pace is progressive and supportive. Each day builds on the last, so by the end of the week participants are handling the helm with confidence and a clear understanding of what they are doing and why.
Small group sizes mean instructors can dedicate real attention to each person on board, adjusting the teaching to suit different learning speeds without anyone being left behind or held back.
Tour Highlights

Course Itinerary
The week begins with a full briefing, safety introduction, and an initial familiarisation with the boat. You will learn the names and functions of key parts of the vessel before your first time on the water.
Focus shifts to the mechanics of sailing: hoisting and trimming sails, understanding points of sail, and beginning to steer with purpose. Instructors work closely with each participant during hands-on drills.
A dedicated session on reading charts, understanding tides, and interpreting basic weather patterns. Classroom theory is applied directly on the water during the afternoon sail.
Participants practise tacking, gybing, and the critical man overboard recovery procedure. This day builds both technical skill and situational awareness in a controlled setting.
With core skills established, participants take on more responsibility at the helm. The group plans and executes a short passage together, applying navigation and seamanship in combination.
The final two days are spent consolidating everything learned, with extended time at the helm and a full review of all practical competencies. The week closes with a debrief and guidance on next steps in your sailing journey.
