Private Boat Tour from Sorrento to Positano and Amalfi
A full day of discovery along the most celebrated coastline in the Mediterranean
This private boat tour from Sorrento to the Amalfi Coast takes you along a stretch of coastline recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where dramatic cliffs, hidden coves, and colorful villages define every view. Accompanied by a dedicated skipper, you explore landmarks that few visitors reach from land.
Departing from the port of Sorrento, your route traces the southern edge of the Sorrento Peninsula before opening onto the wider Amalfi Coast. You pass ancient Roman ruins, protected marine areas, and legendary seascape landmarks, with ample time to swim in clear water at anchor.

Comfort is built into the experience. The boat provides shade, seating, and easy access to the water, making this an appropriate outing for a range of ages and fitness levels.

Itinerary
The first stop is a natural lagoon connected to the open sea through a small stone arch within the ruins of the ancient Roman Villa of Pollio Felice. The site combines Roman archaeology with sheltered, clear water suitable for swimming.
At the southernmost point of the peninsula, the boat rounds Punta Campanella, a protected marine reserve where rugged cliffs meet open sea and Capri appears on the horizon. The skipper recounts the legend of Ulysses and the Sirens associated with this location.
The Li Galli Islands, also called Sirenuse, are a small privately owned archipelago between Sorrento and Positano. The boat passes close enough to appreciate the islands' rugged profile and turquoise surroundings, which can only be seen from the water.
Approaching Positano by sea reveals the full sweep of its colorful houses descending toward the shoreline. Time ashore allows for a walk through the village lanes, a visit to the beach, or a stop at one of the local cafes.
The Fiordo di Furore is a narrow inlet cut between high limestone cliffs, with a stone arch bridge spanning the gorge above. It is one of the least accessible points on the Amalfi Coast by land, making the sea approach particularly rewarding.
The final major stop is the town of Amalfi, where the harbor opens onto a piazza dominated by the Cathedral of Saint Andrew. The town's history as a seafaring republic is visible in its architecture and the narrow streets that climb away from the waterfront.
