Tour Itinerary
Your guide meets you at your hotel at approximately 8:30 in the morning. Transfer to the Old City takes you directly into the historic peninsula where all major landmarks are located within walking distance of each other.
The Hippodrome of Constantinople served as the sporting and social center of Byzantine life for over 1,000 years, hosting chariot races, court ceremonies, and imperial coronations. Three ancient monuments remain in place: the Egyptian Obelisk of Theodosius, the Serpentine Column, and the Column of Constantine.
Constructed between 1609 and 1616 during the reign of Sultan Ahmed I, the mosque is distinguished by its six minarets and its interior walls lined with more than 20,000 handmade blue Iznik tiles. The complex also includes the founder's tomb, a madrasa, and a hospice.
Built between 532 and 537 CE under Byzantine Emperor Justinian I, Hagia Sophia is widely regarded as the most important Byzantine structure in existence. Its vast dome, rising 55 meters above the floor, remained an engineering marvel for nearly a thousand years after its construction.
The Grand Bazaar has evolved from two original Bedestens into a covered market covering approximately 47,000 square meters, with around 400 shops selling carpets, ceramics, jewelry, spices, and traditional crafts. Visitors have free time to browse and shop before the tour concludes.
At the conclusion of the Grand Bazaar visit, guests are transferred back to their hotel, completing the half-day tour.
