Itinerary Overview
Guests are collected from Keflavik International Airport and transferred to Hotel Fron on Laugavegur in central Reykjavik. After check-in and rest, a city tour takes in the key landmarks of the capital before the first overnight stay.
Following breakfast, the group departs for the Golden Circle, visiting Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall. The evening is spent in the Whale Fjord or Snaefellsnes area, with opportunities to soak in hotel hot tubs and watch for the northern lights in a rural, low-pollution setting.
The route heads north, stopping at Grettislaug thermal pool before continuing to the Troll Peninsula. Three nights are based at Hotel Hjalteyri, with a three-course Icelandic dinner at Eyri Restaurant and evening nature hikes in search of the aurora.
A full day explores the Myvatn area, including Godafoss waterfall, Dimmuborgir, Krafla Volcano, and the Hverir steam fields. The return journey includes a walking tour of Akureyri, the main city of northern Iceland, with free time for shopping.
The morning begins with a tour of the converted Hjalteyri Herring Factory, including a food tasting with a local storyteller.
