Itinerary
Your guide meets you at your hotel lobby or chosen location at the time selected during booking. The group transfers by private air-conditioned vehicle directly to the Saqqara necropolis, located south of Cairo.
The visit begins at the Step Pyramid Complex of King Djoser, constructed around 2650 BCE and considered the first pyramid ever built in Egypt. The tour also includes the Pyramid of King Unas, notable for its hieroglyphic inscriptions, and decorated Old Kingdom tombs featuring scenes of daily and ceremonial life dating back 4,500 years. Entry to the interior of the Step Pyramid requires a separate optional ticket purchased on site.
A short drive leads to the ancient capital of Memphis, where an open-air museum preserves ruins of the Temple of Ptah alongside a colossal limestone statue of Ramses II. The site also contains one of the largest sphinxes from the New Kingdom period, widely associated with the female pharaoh Hatshepsut.
The group travels north to Giza for lunch at a local restaurant, with vegan and vegetarian options available. An optional stop at a papyrus institute offers the chance to observe traditional paper-making techniques and write names in ancient Egyptian script, making it a particularly engaging stop for younger visitors.
The Giza segment covers the exterior of the Great Pyramid of Khufu and the Pyramid of Khafre, followed by a drive to the Western Side Panorama for an unobstructed view of all three pyramids. A 30-minute camel ride departs from this location. Entering any pyramid at Giza requires an additional ticket purchased on site.
The final site visit takes in the Valley Temple, a well-preserved structure of limestone and red granite adjacent to the Great Sphinx of Giza. After exploring the sphinx area, the vehicle returns guests directly to their hotel or designated drop-off point.
