Dalmatian Highlights: Split and Dubrovnik Region Cruise (Deluxe Boat)
Eight days of island-hopping, Roman history, and Adriatic sunsets along Croatia's most celebrated coastline.
This Dalmatian coast cruise connects the UNESCO-listed cities of Trogir, Split, and Dubrovnik with the untouched islands of Hvar, Korcula, Mljet, and Brac aboard a deluxe vessel. Each day brings a new anchorage, a new swim stop, and a different chapter of Dalmatian history and culture. The pace is relaxed, the scenery dramatic, and the route designed to reveal the best of the Croatian Adriatic.
Croatia's coastline is among the most indented in Europe, sheltering nearly 1,200 islands, islets, and reefs. This itinerary threads through the heart of Dalmatia, pausing at villages where fishing boats still outnumber tourist ferries and where medieval stone architecture lines every waterfront. The combination of open-sea sailing and calm sheltered bays makes this route accessible to first-time sailors and seasoned cruisers alike.
The deluxe boat category ensures comfortable cabins, shared social spaces on deck, and a professional crew managing navigation and daily logistics. Guided city tours in Split, Dubrovnik, and Trogir are built into the schedule, while free time in each port allows independent exploration at a personal pace.
A traditional Captain's Dinner on the island of Brac marks the penultimate evening, offering a moment of convivial celebration before the return to Trogir. From the lavender-scented hills of Hvar to the oyster beds of Peljesac and the Baroque fountains of Dubrovnik's Stradun, this cruise assembles Dalmatia's defining experiences into a single, coherent journey.
Tour Highlights
Walk through Diocletian's Palace in Split, a 1,700-year-old Roman imperial residence that forms the living heart of a modern UNESCO World Heritage city.
Swim in the saltwater lakes of Mljet National Park, where water temperatures run two degrees warmer than the open sea and a medieval monastery sits on a lake island.
Explore Korcula Old Town, birthplace of Marco Polo, whose fortress walls and stone lanes earn it the nickname Little Dubrovnik.
Tour Dubrovnik's historic city walls and stroll the marble Stradun in the Pearl of the Adriatic, one of the Mediterranean's best-preserved medieval cities.
Anchor at Hvar, renowned for its mild climate, fragrant lavender fields, and the dramatic Fortica fortress overlooking the Pakleni island archipelago.
Visit Trogir, a compact UNESCO-listed city whose palaces, churches, and ancient walls are layered across a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge.
Discover Brac's famous white limestone, the same stone used to build the White House in Washington and the Reichstag in Berlin, and relax on the celebrated Zlatni Rat pebble beach.
Itinerary Overview
Board in Trogir between noon and 2 pm, or join the vessel later in Split. After a welcome from the captain and crew, the boat anchors in a bay on the island of Ciovo for swimming before sailing into Split for a guided tour of Diocletian's Palace and the old town. Overnight on board in Split.
Depart Split and sail toward Hvar, pausing at a secluded bay for a morning swim. The boat docks in Hvar Town at the foot of the island's hilltop fortress. Spend the afternoon and evening exploring the town's Renaissance square, galleries, and waterfront. Overnight in Hvar harbour or a nearby bay depending on port availability.
Sail along the southern shore of Korcula island, stopping for a swim in a sheltered bay before reaching Pomena or Polace on Mljet. The western portion of the island is a National Park protecting two interconnected saltwater lakes. Entrance to the park is available at personal cost and is strongly recommended. Overnight on board at Mljet.
A morning swim among the Elafiti Islands precedes an afternoon arrival in Dubrovnik. A guided walking tour introduces the city walls, the Stradun, and the principal historic monuments. The cable car to Mount Srd offers panoramic views of the old town and the open Adriatic. Overnight on board in Dubrovnik.
Heading northwest, the boat stops again among the Elafiti Islands for sunbathing before docking in Korcula Town. The medieval old town's towers and fortified gates are remarkably well preserved. This is the reputed birthplace of Marco Polo and one of Dalmatia's most rewarding overnight stops. Overnight on board in Korcula.
Pass the mountainous Peljesac Peninsula and cross to the island of Brac, with a swim stop in a secluded bay along the way. The evening brings the traditional Captain's Dinner in a northern port of Brac, a convivial end to the final full day at sea before the return to Trogir. Overnight on board on Brac.
