The route begins with a visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fátima, one of the most visited pilgrimage sites in the world. The sanctuary draws millions of visitors annually, and its vast esplanade, chapels, and basilicas create an atmosphere of quiet contemplation regardless of one's personal beliefs. Guides explain the events of 1917 that established Fátima as a place of international religious significance.

The journey continues to the Batalha Monastery, a masterpiece of Portuguese Gothic architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. The monastery was built to commemorate the 1385 Battle of Aljubarrota, a defining moment in Portuguese history, and its ornate stonework and unfinished chapels remain among the finest examples of late medieval craftsmanship in Europe.
