Itinerary
The group departs Brasov in the morning and travels approximately 80 kilometers into the Land of Volcanoes region. The drive passes through Transylvanian countryside and into the Harghita mountain area.
A guided walk through the Mohos peat bog introduces participants to its unusual plant life, including carnivorous and hallucinogenic species adapted to the acidic, waterlogged environment. The guide explains the ecological history of the bog and its relationship to the volcanic past of the area.
The group visits St. Anna Lake, Romania's only crater lake, and takes a short hike to Puturosu Cave. At the cave, the natural carbon dioxide emissions create a visible phenomenon that represents the largest natural gas bath in Europe.
A lunch stop at a nearby restaurant gives participants time to rest and enjoy views of the volcanic landscape. Lunch is not included in the tour price and guests choose from the available menu independently.
