Dalmatian Highlights: Split and Dubrovnik Region Cruise (Superior Boat Category)
Eight days among a thousand islands, where ancient stone cities meet the crystal-clear Adriatic.
This Dalmatian coast island-hopping cruise connects UNESCO-listed old towns, secluded swimming bays, and Adriatic island landscapes across eight days aboard a superior-category vessel. Departing from Trogir and passing through Split, Hvar, Mljet, Dubrovnik, Korcula, and Brac, the itinerary covers the most celebrated stretches of the Croatian coastline. Each day brings a new port, a new bay, and a new chapter of Dalmatian culture and history.
Croatia's coastline is among the most indented in the Mediterranean, shaped by centuries of geological activity into a mosaic of peninsulas, channels, and over a thousand islands. This cruise takes advantage of that geography, anchoring in harbors that range from UNESCO World Heritage old towns to uninhabited coves accessible only by sea. The superior boat category ensures comfortable cabins and shared deck space suited to the rhythm of a week-long maritime journey.
Guided city tours are included in Trogir, Split, and Dubrovnik, offering structured introductions to landmarks such as Diocletian's Palace, the Stradun promenade, and Trogir's medieval core. Outside of those tours, passengers have free time to explore independently, dine ashore, or simply swim in the warm Adriatic. The pace is unhurried, with each overnight stop allowing for both evening exploration and restful nights on the water.
The itinerary passes through some of the most historically significant ports on the eastern Adriatic, including Korcula, the reputed birthplace of Marco Polo, and Mljet, where a Benedictine monastery sits on an islet within a national park saltwater lake. The final days trace back northward via Brac, celebrated for its white limestone quarried for buildings as far afield as Washington D.C. and Berlin, before returning to Trogir for disembarkation.
Tour Highlights
Walk through Diocletian's Palace in Split, a 1,700-year-old Roman imperial residence that remains a living, inhabited quarter of Croatia's second-largest city.
Explore Dubrovnik's massive medieval city walls on a guided tour, with optional cable car access to Mount Srđ for panoramic views over the old town and the Adriatic.
Swim in the saltwater lakes of Mljet National Park, where water temperatures run consistently warmer than the open sea and a former monastery island sits at the center of the larger lake.
Dock overnight in Korcula, a fortress-walled island town long associated with the explorer Marco Polo, surrounded by pine forests, vineyards, and traditional fishing villages.
Discover Trogir's medieval core on a guided walking tour, taking in Romanesque churches, vaulted passageways, and intact city walls that earned the town its UNESCO designation.
Stop at the golden pebble beach Zlatni Rat on the island of Brac, one of the most photographed natural landmarks on the Dalmatian coast, flanked by pine trees and clear turquoise water.
Pass through Hvar, known for its fragrant lavender fields, Venetian fortress, and the scattered Pakleni Islands visible from the harbor anchorage.
Itinerary Overview
Board in Trogir between noon and 2:00 pm, with a welcome from the captain and crew. After a swimming stop in a bay on the island of Ciovo, the boat proceeds to Split for a guided tour of the UNESCO-protected old town built within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. The evening is free for independent exploration of Split's promenade and restaurants, with an overnight stay on board.
Leaving Split, the cruise heads south toward Hvar with a swim stop in a secluded bay along the way. The boat anchors in Hvar town, situated below a hilltop Venetian fortress overlooking the Pakleni Islands. Overnight is in Hvar port where possible, or in a nearby bay if the harbor is at capacity.
The route follows the southern coast of Korcula with a bay swim before arriving at Pomena or Polace on the island of Mljet. A portion of the island forms a national park centered on two interconnected saltwater lakes, the larger of which contains a small island with a former Benedictine monastery. Entrance to the national park is at the passenger's own expense.
After a swim stop at the Elafiti Islands, the boat arrives in Dubrovnik in the afternoon. A guided walking tour covers the historic city walls, the Stradun promenade, and key landmarks of a city that served as one of the Mediterranean's most influential trading republics. Free time follows for independent sightseeing, including an optional cable car ride to Mount Srd.
Heading northwest, the cruise stops at the Elafiti Islands for swimming before docking at Korcula, whose fortified old town and compact medieval streets have earned it comparison to Dubrovnik. The town is traditionally identified as the birthplace of Marco Polo and is surrounded by vineyards and pine forests. Overnight on board in Korcula harbor.
Passing the Peljesac Peninsula, the boat reaches Brac for a Captain's Dinner overnight, then returns to Trogir via a final swim stop at Ciovo. A guided walking tour of Trogir's UNESCO-listed medieval core rounds out the journey before disembarkation the following morning after breakfast.
