Table Mountain Cable Car, Penguins Colony, Cape of Good Hope and Cape Point Old Lighthouse
One full day. Two ocean currents. Thousands of penguins. And views that reach the edge of the world.
This Cape Town full-day tour combines the most iconic landmarks of the Cape Peninsula into a single, expertly guided shared excursion departing directly from your hotel. From the heights of Table Mountain to the rocky shores of Boulders Beach, every stop is chosen for its natural and historical significance.
The journey opens in the heart of Cape Town with a short orientation through Bo-Kaap, the neighbourhood known for its brightly painted houses and rich Cape Malay heritage. Guests then ascend Table Mountain by cable car, recognised as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, to take in sweeping panoramic views over the city, the Atlantic Ocean, and the surrounding peaks.
Travelling south along the Atlantic seaboard, the route follows Chapman's Peak Drive, a cliff-hugging coastal road considered one of the most scenic drives on the planet. A scheduled viewpoint stop allows time to absorb the scale of the landscape before continuing to Boulders Beach, where a thriving colony of approximately 2,500 African Penguins lives among the granite boulders of Simon's Town.
The afternoon takes visitors into the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, home to two of the most photographed landmarks in South Africa. At Cape Point, travellers can choose to hike to the old lighthouse or ride the Flying Dutchman funicular, before the day closes with a brief stop at the colourful beach cabanas of St. James Beach.

The tour begins with a convenient hotel pickup in Cape Town. The first stop is Bo-Kaap, Cape Town's most colourful neighbourhood, where guests learn about the Cape Malay history embedded in its distinctive architecture.
Guests board the rotating cable car for the ascent to the summit of Table Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. The summit offers panoramic views of the city, Cape Peninsula, and surrounding ocean.
The route follows the Atlantic seaboard past Maiden's Cove, with views of the 12 Apostles mountain range, before joining Chapman's Peak Drive. A stop at a scenic viewpoint offers an opportunity to photograph the dramatic cliffs and ocean below.
At Boulder's Beach near the naval town of Simon's Town, guests visit one of the few land-based African Penguin colonies on the continent. Approximately 2,500 penguins can be observed at close range along the designated boardwalk.
Inside the reserve, a guided stop at the Cape of Good Hope sign is included before proceeding to Cape Point. Here, guests may hike or take the Flying Dutchman funicular to the old lighthouse, positioned above the meeting point of two major ocean currents.
