Cagliari: Tour of the Archaeological Site of Nora
Walk through two thousand years of history along Sardinia's most evocative coastal ruins.
This guided excursion brings you face to face with the archaeological site of Nora, one of the oldest and best-preserved ancient cities in Sardinia, before a panoramic sweep through the heart of Cagliari itself.
Nora stands on a narrow promontory jutting into the Mediterranean and shelters layers of Phoenician, Punic, and Roman civilisation within a single compact site. Among its most remarkable features are the island's only surviving Roman theater, three distinct spa complexes, and a collection of original floor mosaics that have endured largely intact over the centuries.
After returning from Nora, the tour continues through Cagliari with a panoramic route that traces the city from east to west. Highlights include a stop at the elevated viewpoint of Monte Urpinu and an exterior visit to the Basilica of Bonaria, the largest church in the city and a landmark of Sardinian religious history.
