2-Day Bahariya Oasis Camp and Desert Tour from Cairo
Two days, one private guide, and an unforgettable journey through Egypt's most dramatic desert landscapes.
This Bahariya Oasis and White Desert tour delivers a focused, private adventure through some of Egypt's most striking natural scenery, covering volcanic hills, crystal formations, and wind-sculpted chalk rocks in two carefully paced days. Hotel pickups from Cairo or Giza are included, along with four meals and comfortable dome tent camping under open desert skies.
The journey moves through a landscape that shifts dramatically as you travel west from Cairo. Black volcanic hills give way to quartz-studded mountains, and eventually open into the White Desert National Park, where wind erosion has shaped chalk formations into shapes that catch different light at every hour.
Camping at Al Haiz places you within reach of the oasis towns, allowing a second day dedicated to ancient burial sites and local landmarks at a relaxed pace. The tour is rated easy in difficulty, making it accessible for travelers who want a genuine desert encounter without technical demands.
All entrance fees, sandboarding, spring visits, and meals are bundled into the package, removing planning complexity and letting you focus entirely on the experience.

Itinerary
Your guide collects you from your Cairo or Giza hotel for the four-hour drive west to the Bahariya Oasis. On arrival, lunch is served at a local restaurant before the desert exploration begins.
The afternoon begins at the Black Desert, where black volcanic hills and dolerite rock fragments cover the landscape. From there, the route continues to Crystal Mountain in the Valley of Agabat, where quartz crystal deposits are visible within the mountain face.
The day's highlight is the White Desert National Park, where chalk formations sculpted by centuries of wind create a landscape unlike anywhere else in Egypt. After exploring the park, you return to the Al Haiz campsite for a barbecue dinner and an overnight stay in dome tents.
Day two opens with breakfast at the campsite before heading to the Valley of the Golden Mummies, one of the largest Greco-Roman burial sites discovered in Egypt. The nearby Tomb of Bannantiu offers additional insight into the region's ancient history.
The morning continues with visits to the English House, the sand dunes, and the Salt Lake at Bawiti town in the Bahariya Oasis. After a final lunch at the oasis, the group drives back to Cairo or Giza for hotel drop-off.
