The tour opens at a row of seven houses, each representing the architectural style of a different European country: France, Spain, Italy, England, Russia, Germany, and the Netherlands. Country names are displayed above the front doors for reference.

The route passes a mural that has decorated this building since 2014, inspired by Jacob van Lennep's poem. Nearby, a bench on the Leidsegracht gained international recognition as a filming location for the 2014 adaptation of John Green's novel about two teenagers who travel to Amsterdam.

The Flower Market occupies a series of boats along the canal, offering vivid color for photography at any time of year. The adjacent Munttoren, officially the Regulierstoren, was once part of the medieval city gate fortifications of Amsterdam.

A glass elevator takes you to the rooftop cafe at the top of the Kalvertoren shopping center, where unobstructed views stretch across the city in every direction. This is one of Amsterdam's lesser-known vantage points and an outstanding photography opportunity.

The Hotel Doelen stands where the 17th-century Kloveniersdoelen once housed Rembrandt's Night Watch from 1642 to 1715, and later welcomed guests including the Beatles in 1964. A short walk brings you to the Halvemaansbrug, recognized as the best position for photographing the leaning canal houses reflected in the Amstel.

Across the Amstel, the Stopera complex integrates Amsterdam's city hall with the National Opera and Ballet in a single modernist structure. The nearby Blauwbrug, modeled on Parisian bridge architecture, provides a final elevated viewpoint over the river before the tour concludes.
