Tour to Abu Dabbab from Hurghada
A full-day snorkeling journey to one of Egypt's most protected bays, where sea turtles and coral reefs await.
The Abu Dabbab snorkeling tour from Hurghada takes you along the Red Sea coast to a sheltered bay in Marsa Alam renowned for its shallow seagrass meadows, resident sea turtles, and thriving coral ecosystems. This guided day trip offers two dedicated snorkeling sessions in crystal-clear waters and a relaxed lunch break on the sandy shore.
Abu Dabbab Bay sits within a protected natural area and stands apart from typical Red Sea destinations thanks to its permanently anchored population of green sea turtles. The seagrass meadows that carpet the bay floor provide a reliable feeding ground, giving snorkelers a genuine chance to observe turtles at close range in their natural habitat.
The journey from Hurghada travels south along a scenic coastal road, passing stretches of undeveloped Red Sea shoreline before reaching Marsa Alam. The distance makes this a full commitment, but the quality and variety of marine life at Abu Dabbab justify the travel time for anyone interested in underwater exploration.
Occasional dugong sightings have been recorded at the bay, making it one of a small number of accessible sites in Egypt where these rare marine mammals may be encountered. Even without a dugong sighting, the combination of turtles, reef fish, and healthy coral formations makes every visit rewarding.
