Day-by-Day Itinerary
Departing Athens, the first stop is the Corinth Canal for photos at the narrow waterway that separates mainland Greece from the Peloponnese. The route then continues to the Theatre of Epidaurus, renowned for its extraordinary acoustics and near-perfect state of preservation.
After a short walk through the Venetian-influenced town of Nafplion, the group visits the citadel of Mycenae before ending the day in Olympia. Overnight in Olympia.
The morning is spent at the Sanctuary of Olympian Zeus, the Ancient Stadium where athletes competed in the original games, and the archaeological museum housing the famous statue of Hermes by Praxiteles.
The group then travels north through the Peloponnese and Central Greece to reach Delphi by evening. Overnight in Delphi.
A full morning is dedicated to the archaeological site of Delphi, including the Temple of Apollo, the Athenian Treasury, the ancient theatre, and the on-site museum, which holds some of the finest bronze sculptures in the world.
In the afternoon the tour heads north through the villages of Central Greece to reach Kalambaka, the gateway town to Meteora. Overnight in Kalambaka.
The final morning is spent among the extraordinary rock formations of Meteora, visiting the clifftop monasteries that have clung to their summits since the 14th century. The landscape is as dramatic as the history attached to it.
The return journey to Athens passes through Trikala, Lamia, and Thermopylae, where a brief stop allows travelers to photograph the Monument of Leonidas before arriving back in Athens in the early evening.
