          More to know about Hafnir

Hafnir is a small coastal settlement in Reykjanesbær, southwestern Iceland. Located on the Reykjanes Peninsula, it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean and is known for its dramatic coastal cliffs and proximity to geothermal areas. The village serves as a base for exploring nearby attractions, including hiking along rugged shorelines and visiting local fishing traditions that remain central to daily life.
Hafnir is a small coastal settlement on the southwestern tip of Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula, located approximately 48 kilometres from Reykjavik and 20 kilometres from Keflavik International Airport. The village sits directly above the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates diverge, making it one of the few places on Earth where active rift geology is visible at ground level. The surrounding area is protected for its geological significance and forms part of the Reykjanes UNESCO Global Geopark.
