More to know about Boulders Beach

Boulders Beach is a small sandy cove on the coast of the Western Cape in South Africa. Located near Simon's Town, it is famous for its distinctive granite boulders and resident African penguin colony, one of only two mainland penguin populations in Africa. Visitors typically walk among the boulders, observe penguins in their natural habitat, and swim in the sheltered waters.
Boulders Beach is located on the False Bay coastline of the Cape Peninsula, approximately 4 kilometres south of Simon's Town and 45 kilometres from Cape Town city centre. It falls within Table Mountain National Park, administered by South African National Parks (SANParks), and sits within the Cape Floristic Region, a UNESCO World Heritage biodiversity hotspot. The site is recognised internationally as one of the most accessible African penguin (Spheniscus demersus) breeding colonies on the continent, with a resident population exceeding 2,000 individuals.
