After a picturesque drive to the family owned Kourkoulou Winery (winery visited depends on availability), you will learn about viticulture and the winemaking process, and taste 5 of their amazing wines.

Built at an altitude of 260m, the holy sanctuary of Agia Irini is one of the oldest Cretan monasteries. In the peaceful atmosphere that the mountains offer, you will be guided through the small museum of the monastery, the refectory, and the workshops for painting icons, embroidery and sewing.
After the visit of the premices, the nuns - who are still in activity - will prepare and share with you a delicious breakfast made of dakos, Cretan sweet bread, Cretan pies, tomatos, olives, fruits and your choice of Greek coffee or tea.
After a picturesque drive through the mountains, you will meet the winemaker and follow her and her guides through a passionate explanation from the vineyard to the bottle. The complete winemaking process is happening in this brand new family winery, and you will learn all of the secrets and techniques used to transform a grape into the beautiful wine they serve. You will be guided through a commented wine tasting of 5 different wines served with homemade olive oil and rusks.
