Margarites is a traditional ceramic-producing village in the Rethymno regional unit of Crete, Greece, located approximately 27 kilometres east of Rethymno town at an elevation of around 280 metres in the Milopotamos valley foothills. The village is recognised for an unbroken pottery tradition with roots in the Minoan period, and sits within easy reach of the ancient site of Eleutherna, the Arkadi Monastery, and the Melidoni Cave, forming a coherent inland cultural circuit on the island's northern side.
