Lasithi Plateau is a high-altitude agricultural basin located in the Lasithi regional unit of eastern Crete, Greece, situated at approximately 840 metres above sea level within the Dikti mountain range. The plateau is historically significant as the mythological birthplace of Zeus and as a centre of Minoan-era religious activity, with the Dikteon Cave serving as one of the most important sacred sites in ancient Greek religion. The region supports around 20 villages and retains a strong tradition of small-scale farming, beekeeping, and herbal production.
