Tróia is a narrow sandbar peninsula on Portugal's Atlantic coast, positioned at the mouth of the Sado Estuary in the Setúbal district. The peninsula forms part of the Sado Estuary Nature Reserve and is accessible exclusively by ferry from Setúbal, approximately 45 kilometers south of Lisbon. Its northern tip contains a Roman fish-salting settlement, a modern resort complex, and a marina, while the southern stretches remain protected natural habitat within a designated conservation zone.
