Arras is the prefecture of the Pas-de-Calais department in the Hauts-de-France region of northern France, situated on the Scarpe river approximately 180 kilometres north of Paris and 70 kilometres south of Lille. The city's historic centre is classified and its belfry is a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Belfries of Belgium and France group.
