Greenpoint is the northernmost neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York City, bordered by Newtown Creek to the north, the borough boundary with Queens to the east, McCarren Park and Williamsburg to the south, and the East River to the west. It is served by the G train (Greenpoint Avenue and Nassau Avenue stations) and the NYC Ferry at India Street. The neighborhood sits within Brooklyn Community Board 1 and has historically been associated with Polish immigration, maritime industry, and, more recently, significant residential and commercial development driven by its proximity to Williamsburg and Manhattan.
