Mount Pentelicus (Greek: Penteliko) is a mountain in the Attica region of Greece, located approximately 18 kilometres northeast of central Athens. Rising to 1,109 metres, it is the source of the Pentelic marble used in the construction of the Parthenon and other classical Athenian monuments. The mountain sits within the municipalities of Penteli and Pallini and is administered under Greek national environmental regulations. Content is based on established geographical, historical, and travel knowledge current to 2025.
