Kallithea is a municipality in the southern Athens urban agglomeration, administratively part of the Attica region of Greece. It lies immediately south of the Athens city center, bordered by Neos Kosmos, Moschato, and Tavros, and is connected to the broader metropolitan area via Metro Line 1 and an extensive OASA bus network. The area gained significant population and cultural identity following the resettlement of Greek refugees from Asia Minor after 1922, and retains a dense, working-class urban character distinct from the tourist-oriented historic core.
