Trizonia island is located in the Gulf of Corinth, within the regional unit of Fokida in western central Greece. It is the only permanently inhabited island in the gulf, with a population of fewer than 100 residents. The island is accessed via a short ferry crossing from the mainland village of Agia Triada and lies approximately 220 kilometres from Athens by road and sea combined. Its protected natural harbour has made it a reference point for sailing routes between the Ionian and Aegean seas for generations.
