Breioamerkurjokull is an outlet glacier of the Vatnajokull ice cap in southeastern Iceland, located within Vatnajokull National Park at approximately 64 degrees north latitude. It is the primary source of icebergs in the Jokulsarlon glacial lagoon, which drains into the Atlantic Ocean near the village of Hofn. The glacier has retreated significantly over the 20th and 21st centuries, making it a prominent site for glaciological research and climate change observation.
