          More to know about Hermopolis

Hermopolis, located in Upper Egypt along the Nile River, was an ancient city of significant religious and cultural importance. The site features ruins of temples dedicated to Thoth, the Egyptian god of wisdom, and preserves remnants of Greco-Roman architecture from the Ptolemaic period. Visitors explore archaeological remains and visit the nearby Tuna el-Gebel necropolis to view mummified ibises and ancient tombs.
Hermopolis Magna, identified with the modern archaeological zone of El Ashmunein in Minya Governorate, Egypt, was one of antiquity's great religious centers, dedicated to Thoth and representing a continuous settlement from the pre-dynastic period through the Byzantine era. Its geographic position on the west bank of the Nile, directly opposite Akhenaten's capital of Akhetaten, places it at the intersection of multiple defining episodes in Egyptian history. Editorial content is based on established archaeological scholarship and on-the-ground regional knowledge of Middle Egypt.
