          Volubilis is an ancient Roman archaeological site located in northern Morocco, near the city of Meknes in the Mauretania Region. The ruins feature well-preserved mosaics, columns, and residential structures from the 1st to 3rd centuries.           Volubilis is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located approximately 33 kilometers north of Meknes in northern Morocco, within the Zerhoun Massif foothills. It preserves the remains of a Roman city that served as the capital of the province of Mauritania Tingitana from the 1st century BCE until the 3rd century CE, and later as the seat of the Idrisid dynasty in the 8th century.
