          Lanjaron is a municipality in Granada province, Andalusia, southern Spain, situated at the western entrance to the Alpujarras valley on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada at approximately 670 metres above sea level. The town falls within the Sierra Nevada UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and borders the Sierra Nevada National Park. Its mineral waters have been commercially bottled since the early twentieth century and distributed across Spain. The Alpujarras region as a whole is recognised for its Moorish-influenced architecture, traditional land use, and the acequia irrigation systems inherited from the Nasrid period of Al-Andalus.
