More to know about Kallithea
Kallithea is a coastal suburb of Athens in Attica, Greece, located on the Saronic Gulf. The district is known for its Art Deco architecture, particularly the historic Kallithea Thermal Springs building, and its sandy beaches. Visitors enjoy swimming in the Mediterranean, exploring the waterfront promenade, and visiting nearby archaeological sites including the ancient Temple of Poseidon.
Kallithea is a municipality in the southern Athens urban agglomeration, administratively part of the Attica region of Greece. It lies immediately south of the Athens city center, bordered by Neos Kosmos, Moschato, and Tavros, and is connected to the broader metropolitan area via Metro Line 1 and an extensive OASA bus network. The area gained significant population and cultural identity following the resettlement of Greek refugees from Asia Minor after 1922, and retains a dense, working-class urban character distinct from the tourist-oriented historic core.
