Heidmork is a geothermal area located in southwestern Iceland, near Reykjavik in the North Atlantic region. Heidmork is a protected nature reserve and recreational area covering approximately 3,200 hectares southeast of Reykjavik, Iceland. It borders Lake Ellidavatn and extends into the volcanic lava fields adjacent to the Blafjoll mountain range. The reserve is managed by the City of Reykjavik and serves as the primary accessible wilderness area for the capital's residents and visitors. Its landscape reflects Iceland's broader geology, with ancient lava formations, restored birch woodland, and freshwater lake habitats coexisting within a single protected zone.
