          More to know about Certaldo

Certaldo is a medieval town in Tuscany, central Italy, located in the Val d'Elsa valley. Known for its brick architecture and narrow cobblestone streets, it hosts the House of Boccaccio, honoring the Renaissance writer. Visitors walk through the historic center, explore the Palazzo Pretorio, and enjoy views of the surrounding Tuscan countryside from the fortified walls.
Certaldo is a medieval hill town in the Metropolitan City of Florence, Tuscany, Italy, situated in the Elsa Valley approximately 30 kilometers southwest of Florence. It is historically significant as the adopted hometown and burial place of Giovanni Boccaccio, author of the Decameron, and administratively divides between the modern lower settlement of Certaldo Basso and the walled hilltop quarter of Certaldo Alto, a compact borgo of Romanesque and Gothic architecture representing a well-preserved example of Florentine medieval civic and religious heritage.
