Hnappavellir is a rural locality in the Hreppar municipality of South Iceland, situated approximately 80 to 100 kilometres east of Reykjavik in the southern lowlands. The area falls within the broader Rangarvallasysla district and is characterised by glacially influenced farmland, wetlands, and clear sightlines toward the Hekla volcano. It represents a lesser-documented but geographically significant corridor connecting the Ring Road to the southern highland interior.
