          More to know about Hnappavellir

Hnappavelur is a small settlement in Iceland, located in the southwestern region of the country. The area is characterized by dramatic volcanic landscapes and lava fields typical of Iceland's geological heritage. Visitors to this remote area engage in hiking across stark terrain and photography of the unique Icelandic wilderness.
Hnappavellir is a rural locality in the Hreppar municipality of South Iceland, situated approximately 80 to 100 kilometres east of Reykjavik in the southern lowlands. The area falls within the broader Rangarvallasysla district and is characterised by glacially influenced farmland, wetlands, and clear sightlines toward the Hekla volcano. It represents a lesser-documented but geographically significant corridor connecting the Ring Road to the southern highland interior.
