          Vatnajökull National Park covers over 8,000 square kilometres in southeastern Iceland, encompassing Europe's largest glacier and its surrounding landscapes. The park features Vatnajökull ice cap, subglacial volcanoes, and dramatic waterfalls including Skaftafell area. Visitors hike on glacier tongues, explore ice caves, visit the nearby Jökulsárlón glacial lagoon, and photograph volcanic terrain shaped by eruptions and glacial activity.
          Vatnajokull National Park is located in southeastern and central Iceland, covering approximately 14,000 square kilometers and encompassing the Vatnajokull ice cap, Europe's largest glacier by volume. The park was established in 2008 and expanded in 2019, unifying the former Skaftafell and Jokulsargljufur national parks under a single protected area administered by the Environment Agency of Iceland.
