          More to know about Langjokull

Langjökull is Iceland's second-largest glacier, located in the highlands of central Iceland. This vast ice cap covers approximately 953 square kilometers and features dramatic crevasses, ice caves, and frozen landscapes. Visitors explore the glacier through guided ice cave tours, snowmobile expeditions, and hiking excursions that showcase Iceland's subarctic environment and geological formations.
Langjokull is Iceland's second-largest ice cap, located approximately 150 kilometres northeast of Reykjavik in the Western Highlands. Covering over 950 square kilometres at elevations up to 1,450 metres, it straddles the Borgarfjordur and Kjolur highland regions and feeds major glacial rivers including the Hvita, which sources the Gullfoss waterfall. The glacier sits above a volcanic caldera and contains one of Iceland's most visited man-made ice tunnel systems, operated year-round for guided visitor access.
