Kerið is a crater lake in southwestern Iceland, located in the Reykjanes Peninsula region. The lake sits within a volcanic crater formed approximately 3,000 years ago, featuring striking blue waters surrounded by reddish lava rock walls. Visitors hike around the crater rim to observe the geological formations and photograph the dramatic landscape from multiple vantage points.
Kerið is a collapse caldera located in the Grímsnes volcanic area of southwest Iceland, approximately 75 kilometres from Reykjavik along the Golden Circle route. The crater is estimated to be around 3,000 years old and is maintained as a fee-access natural attraction managed by the local municipality of Árborg.
