More to know about Therasia
Therasia is a small volcanic island in the Aegean Sea, part of the Santorini archipelago in Greece. Located west of the main island, it features rugged cliffs, ancient ruins, and traditional whitewashed settlements. Visitors reach Therasia by ferry and explore the island on foot, hiking between villages, visiting archaeological sites, and enjoying views of the caldera from elevated vantage points.
Therasia is a small Greek island located on the western rim of the Santorini caldera in the South Aegean Cyclades. Covering approximately 9 square kilometers, it belongs to the municipality of Thira and sits roughly 7 kilometers northwest of Fira. The island is part of the same volcanic complex as Santorini, formed by the massive Bronze Age eruption of approximately 1600 BCE. Its permanent population numbers only a few hundred residents, concentrated in the hilltop village of Manolas.
