          Monflanquin is a classified bastide town located in the Lot-et-Garonne department of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France, founded in 1256 by Alphonse de Poitiers and listed among the Plus Beaux Villages de France. It sits at approximately 180 metres elevation above the Lède river valley, roughly 30 kilometres east of Villeneuve-sur-Lot and 40 kilometres northeast of Agen, within a landscape historically shared between French and English territorial interests during the medieval period.
